Dormer & Pramet

Dormer Tools was established in Sheffield, England, originally as a product brand of The Sheffield Twist Drill & Steel Co. Meanwhile, Pramet Tools was founded in the former Czechoslovakia by starting production of sintered carbide in Sumperk.

Both companies were acquired by Sandvik – one of the world’s leading high technology engineering groups – in the 1990’s. The two businesses came together, along with North American brands Precision Twist Drill and Union Butterfield, to create Dormer Pramet. This culmination of brands provides one single, far-reaching offer covering round tools and indexables.
